History of the temple

Parshuram Mahadev Temple is located at the border of Pali and Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. It is about 14 kms away from the Sadri town.

This is an ancient temple which is believed to have been made by Lord Parshuram, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. He carved the cave out of the Aravalli using his axe and meditated in front of the “Shiva Linga” seeking for the blessing of Lord Shiva. This place attracts a large mass of people twice a year when fairs are organized which usually fall in August/September.

About the Temple

To reach the cave which is about 3,995 feet above sea-level, you need to climb the 500 steep steps. That might be adventurous as well as painful, but nonetheless, once you make it to the cave, you can find people selling herbal tea which would be quite invigorating after a tiring climb.

But if you have pain in your knees or unable to climb those steps due to your age or fitness, you can go to Kumbhalgarh, leave your vehicle at the parking and ask your driver to meet you at Sadri. From there, you can walk down to the cave quite easily using the superb track. As you will be walking down, you will get an amazing vibe of your surrounding views. After visiting the cave and spending some time there, you can walk down the steps that will leave you at Sadri where you can find your driver waiting for you.

You can find many monkeys along your way, but they will not harm you unless you mock at them. You can avoid taking something edible with you as they will come after you to have it.

This is not just a religious place, rather it has been proved to be the best picnic and hangout place for people to spend some memorable time with their friend and family due to its exquisite views and serene environment. A must visit place for them who desire to experience the true beauty of nature.
