The first time, Rajasthan International Folk Festival organized in 2017. RIFF is an initiative of Jaipur Virasat Foundation & Mehrangarh Museum Trust. Held within the brilliant Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, RIFF established as an annual festival on the world music calendar. RIFF has been deliberate from the outset to serve as a stunning 21st-century client to the traditional rural song and musicians of Rajasthan.

The Rajasthan rural arts program turned into initiated via the late John Singh as the foundation stone of the yearly RIFF festival.
